San Diego is full of diversity throughout its various communities, and North Park is no exception. With plenty of cafes and diners, beautiful craftsman cottage homes, boutiques, microbreweries, a theater, arts district, a farmers market, and more - this neighborhood has it all. Downtown North Park is designated by a large sign that stands prominently in the middle of University Avenue close to 30th Street. There are many art galleries and cultural venues and events throughout North Park, making this a great place to live for those who appreciate art and educational experiences. One not-to-be-missed, reccuring highlight is the monthly Ray at Night event. Every 2nd Saturday of the month from 6 PM to 9 PM the local galleries and stores open for an evening of music, performances, art, food, and libations. It's a great way to spend the beginning of your night with friends or meet new people. Architecturally, North Park has many beautiful structures and homes. Notably, the Morley Field area - named for its proximity to the Morley Field Sports Complex, is full of turn of the century California and craftsman bungalows. Many of these homes were designed by famed architect and builder David Owen Dryden. As such, this area is home to the "Dryden Historic District." What's more, Forbes magazine stated that because of the diversity of offerings located in North Park, that they consider the area to be a "bastion of creativity." Further, the Los Angeles Times praised the area for being "cool," "culturally diverse," "trendy," and "foodie-approved."
