Mission Beach Surfing and So Much More

Mission Beach San Diego Homes

This iconic San Diego beach town is bordered by Mission Beach and Mission Bay to the south, La Jolla to the north, the Pacific to the west, and Interstate 5 to the east. Many locals refer to the area as simply “PB.” Initially the area was mostly made up of college students, surfers, and younger crowds; however, over the years rental costs have risen. Today you are more likely to see more affluent individuals living in this area. There is a lot to see and do here - as there are many bars, restaurants, shops, nightlife areas, and over 3-miles of beautiful beaches. Ocean Front Walk serves as the boardwalk here. This pedestrian walkway goes from Law Street in the north, all the way to Mission Beach. Popular activities here include rollerblading, cycling, walking, jogging, and shopping. There are also bars and restaurants that dot the side of Ocean Front Walk. Surfers tend to gravitate toward Tourmaline Surfing Park at the northern end of Pacific Beach where you can find a memorial that reads, “Surf Well, Spread Aloha, Share Waves Without Judgment.” If you are looking to live in the Pacific Beach area, or to relocate to San Diego in general, then contact me, Michael Nelson, your local community and real estate expert.
