Normal Heights Neighborhood

Normal Heights Real Estate

Officially organized and laid out in 1906, Normal Heights is located between University Heights to the east and Kensington to the west. The area is known for having a diverse mix of people, homes, and business establishments. You will see single-family dwellings along the Mission Valley ridge to the north of Adams Avenue and, conversely, the housing to the south of Adams is comprised of mostly multi-resident structures. The population is made up of families, students, natives, immigrants, and everyone in-between – ensuring an eclectic mix of people. The bustling Adams Avenue corridor plays host to supermarkets, small businesses, antique shops, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and more. Due to the proximity of

everything in Normal Heights, it is widely considered one of the most walk-able neighborhoods in all of San Diego. Fun annual events in the area include the Adams Avenue Street Fair – which is Southern California’s biggest, free music festival. The event is usually held the last weekend in September. Another free music festival is Adams Avenue Unplugged, which takes place in the last weekend of April. Also, Art Around Adams is a community art happening that displays the great works of talented locals both inside and outside of various businesses.
