Mission Hills is regarded as one of San Diego's best neighborhoods. Characterized by beautiful homes, tree-lined streets, a bustling business district, and a friendly atmosphere - residents here are proud to call Mission Hills their home. Mission Hills is situated just a short drive northwest of downtown San Diego. The magnificent landscaping and meandering canyon passes make this area seem like a whole different world, yet residents are close to all the excitement of America's Finest City. Fans of architecture will appreciate top-notch examples of historic designs found here. In fact, the first home built here was the Villa Orizaba. Constructed in 1887, this home still stands today and is simply stunning. There is a variety of architecture represented in this area, including: prairie homes, craftsman bungalows, Spanish, and Mission Revival. Many great architects, such as Richard Requa and William E. Hebbard, are credited with designing local homes. The business community in Mission Hills offers shopping, fine dining, and plenty of services. Further, the community is very active and friendly. There are many fun events throughout the year like summer concerts in Pioneer Park, garden tours, food festivals, and holiday events. Also, residents of Mission Hills are within walking distance of Hillcrest's shops and restaurants, as well as Old Town and the museums toward the Northwest. I am proud to live and work in Mission Hills. It is truly a wonderful place that is welcoming, safe, centrally located, and full of things to do.
